El candombe es una manifestación cultural de origen afrouruguayo. Tiene un papel significativo en la cultura de Uruguay en los últimos doscientos años, siendo reconocido por UNESCO como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Es una manifestación cultural originada a partir de la llegada de esclavos africanos; constituyendo una fusión de rasgos musicales, religiosos y danza de las diversas tribus africanas presentes en el Río de la Plata en la época de colonia.
Candombe is a cultural manifestation of Afro-Uruguayan origin. It has a significant role in the culture of Uruguay in the last two hundred years, being recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is a cultural manifestation originated from the arrival of African slaves; constituting a fusion of musical, religious and dance traits of the various African tribes present in the Río de la Plata in colonial times.

Uniéndose para iniciar un grupo cultural musical profesional en 2008, los esfuerzos de colaboración de S.N. Candombe NYC nació de un fuerte deseo de llevar la cultura afro uruguaya por las distintas latitudes del mundo
S.N. Candombe NYC es un grupo de Candombe localizado en el área de NYC con el fin de exponer la musica Afro proveniente de Uruguay a otras culturas que se encuentras aledañas a esta área, como también otras partes del mundo la cual ya poseemos con el placer de haber brindado nuestros espectáculos.
Joining to start a professional musical cultural group in 2008, S.N. Candombe NYC was born from a strong desire to bring Afro-Uruguayan culture to the different latitudes of the world
S.N. Candombe NYC is a Candombe group located in the NYC area in order to expose Afro music from Uruguay to other cultures that are neighboring this area, as well as other parts of the world which we already have with the pleasure of having provided our shows.
